Donald Trump and Allies Launch New Super PAC Called MAGA Inc.
With Save America PAC facing intense scrutiny over its role in former President Donald Trump's finances and plot to overturn the 2020 presidential election, Trump and his allies have launched a new super PAC called MAGA Inc.
According to the Associated Press, this new political action committee will serve as Donald Trump and his campaign's main vehicle for his midterm spending.
It is also expected to become a key part of Trump's campaign infrastructure should the former president move forward with his plan to run again in 2024, despite facing numerous criminal and civil investigations against him.
According to Politico, the new group is expected to heavily bolster the candidates he endorsed for the upcoming midterm elections.
Donald Trump himself sanctioned MAGA Inc., and experts see the new Super PAC boosting his efforts to retake the White House.
Donald Trump Allies Will Head New MAGA Inc. Super PAC
Taylor Budowich, a Donald Trump spokesperson who served as his communications director and 2020 senior campaign adviser, will oversee MAGA Inc.
He said: " President Trump is committed to saving America, and Make America Great Again, Inc. will ensure that is achieved at the ballot box in November and beyond."
Chris LaCivita, who ran the Preserve America Super PAC for the Trump campaign during the 2020 elections, will serve as its chief strategist, while Tony Fabrizio, a longtime Trump pollster, will oversee its polling.
Other familiar Trump allies are also seen to return, including veteran GOP fundraiser Meredith O'Rourke, who will be running MAGA Inc.'s finance team.
Steven Cheung, who worked for Trump's 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, will also return to head the new Super PAC's communications department.
Conservative media strategist and former Tucker Carlson TV producer Alex Pfeiffer will also join the communications department.
MAGA Inc. will be merging with the existing pro-Trump super PAC, MAGA Again!, which has so far kept a low profile.
Along with Save America, it can funnel its remaining funds into the newly-created Super PAC.
Axios reported that the new Super PAC was made as Democrats were currently outspending and outraising Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.
Donald Trump's Save America PAC Under Intense Scrutiny
With the various investigations hounding Donald Trump, his controversial Save America PAC had reportedly spent nearly $1 million on legal fees in July alone.
It is one of the entities seen to merge with the new super PAC. The Save America PAC is one of the best-funded political entities, with around $100 million in cash reserves. However, a grand jury, which is sitting in Washington, D.C., is investigating the creation and spending of the political action committee controlled by Trump.
The said grand jury is also probing the activities leading up to the Capitol insurrection and the attempt by Trump and his allies to overturn the result of the 2020 election.
Reports said the grand jury had already issued subpoenas seeking documents, records, and testimony from potential witnesses in connection with its probe of the Save America PAC.
The subpoenas sent in past weeks specifically seek to understand the timeline of Save America's formation, its fundraising activities, and how the fund is received and spent by the Trump-aligned PAC.
Investigators will reportedly look into whether people linked with the Save America PAC defrauded people out of money using false claims about the 2020 election being stolen.
According to Associated Press every time a new scandal about the former president popped up, the PAC usually sent an email to supporters urging them to donate to Save America.
Trump had been aggressive in fundraising for the 2020 election and capitalized on his supporters' anger about the results.
The former president allegedly pushed false information that the election was stolen in order to get his followers to act and donate money to his PAC.
The January 6 hearings revealed that the Save America PAC had collected some $250 million from Trump's campaigns to "Stop the Steal." Most of the donations are small-dollar donations from his supporters.
The January 6 committee also found that 30 minutes before the Capitol insurrection, a plea from Save America was sent out, asking for donations.
Donald Trump has allegedly used the money to pay for his post-presidential rallies and other travels.
He also reportedly used the money for legal fees and commissioning portraits of him and former First Lady Melania Trump, which will soon be placed inside the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery.
