Texas Girl Shoots Dad Before Turning Gun on Herself; Probe Reveals Murder Pact With Another Kid
One Texas girl, a 12-year-old, is accused of shooting her father and herself after being part of a murder pact with another child.
People reported that the 12-year-old agreed with the other girl that they would kill their family members and pets, according to police.
The Texas girl from Weatherford shot her father in the abdomen on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the other child was from Lufkin, Texas. The police shared that she was part of the Weatherford Texas girl's plan. The authorities added that the plan had been an idea for "several weeks."
The two children reportedly planned to run away to Georgia after accomplishing the murder pact.
Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier noted on Facebook that the case will be limited due to the injuries, the age of the juveniles, and the sensitivity of the case matter.

Texas Girl Murder Pact
The sheriff's office said that the Texas girl's 38-year-old father was found inside the house. Meanwhile, the 12-year-old girl was lying in the street with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, according to an NBC DFW News report.
The press release noted that investigators believed that the Texas girl shot her father, fled the scene, and shot herself later on.
A handgun was found underneath the juvenile suspect.
The Lufkin girl, who was also part of the murder pact, did not go through with their ploy to murder their own family members and pets.
Jessica Pebsworth, who is the Lufkin Communications Director, said that it does not matter if they live in a small town or a big city, adding that things like that still happen.
Pebsworth then took the opportunity to remind parents to know who their children are friends with, may it be in the classroom, on social media apps, or on gaming platforms.
Despite the Lufkin girl deciding not to go through with the plan, she is charged with criminal conspiracy.
Murder Pact Failed
The Weatherford girl was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. An ambulance took the Texas girl and the man to local hospitals, as reported by Yahoo News.
A representative for the sheriff's office did not immediately respond regarding the conditions of the two and whether the Texas girl had been charged.
The sheriff's office also did not release the man's name in order not to divulge the girl's identity as the office does not determine juvenile suspects.
Lufkin is about 230 miles southeast of Weatherford. Lufkin police are also doing an investigation into the involvement of the Lufkin girl who did not go through with the murder pact.
KVUE noted that under Texas' juvenile law, when a juvenile is taken into custody, they must be delivered directly into a juvenile processing office with a parent or guardian notified immediately.
Law enforcement can take a juvenile into custody if there is probable cause to believe that the juvenile has violated a criminal law.
