Accused Oxford high school shooter Ethan Crumbley is expected to plead guilty to all 24 charges against him. Crumbley shot four of his classmates and wounded seven others in the Michigan high school shooting.

New York Daily News reported that the Michigan teenager was charged as an adult with four counts of first-degree murder, with around two dozen other charges. Crumbley was 15 when he opened fire in the halls of Oxford High School in November 2021.

The chief assistant prosecutor in Oakland County, David Williams, confirmed that Crumbley is seen to plead guilty to all 24 charges. The charges include terrorism.

Initially, Crumbley pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was also expected to reverse his plea in court on Monday.

Aside from the Michigan teenager, his parents were also charged after being accused of failing to intervene on the day of the shooting despite a meeting with school administrators to discuss their son's behavior inside the classroom.

Ethan Crumbley's Parents Charged

James and Jennifer Crumbley are facing involuntary manslaughter charges. They are also being accused of making a gun accessible to Ethan Crumbley and neglecting his need for mental health care, according to a PBS News Hour report.

Prosecutors noted in a court filing that the Crumbley parents "created an environment in which their son's violent tendencies flourished."

The prosecutors went on to say that James and Jennifer were aware of their son being troubled, but bought him a gun anyway.

The parents said that they are not aware of their son's plan, while also disputing that the gun was easy to get at home.

The Crumbleys are all being held at the Oakland County jail. However, the younger Crumbley is kept away from adults.

Earlier before the shooting, a teacher saw Crumbley searching for ammunition on his phone.

The school then contacted Jennifer, who then told her son in a text message that she was not mad at him, but that he has to "learn not to get caught."

Michigan High School Shooting

A guidance counselor testified in preliminary hearings of James and Jennifer that he had called the parents of Crumbley about their son.

Crumbley was discovered to have sketchings of a gun, and a bloody figure. He also wrote words asking for help and that his life is "useless."

In addition, one of Crumbley's journal entries stated that his grades are falling and that he has "zero help for my mental health problems." The journal entry also read that Crumbley's mental health problems are causing him "to shoot up the f**king school."

Crumbley's parents declined to take him home that day. Later in the afternoon, the shooting started.

The two students who died in the shooting were 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin and 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana, as reported by The New York Times.

Michigan does not impose the death penalty.

Williams said that there had been no plea bargaining with Crumbley, adding that there are no reductions nor sentence agreements.
