Donald Trump Calls for 'Termination' of Constitution in Truth Social Post; White House Says Attacking Constitution 'Should Be Universally Condemned'
Former President Donald Trump made another controversial post on his Truth Social account on Saturday when he called for the termination of the Constitution to overturn the 2020 election.
In his post, Trump said: "Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution."
He added that even "our great founders" did not want, and "would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!" Aside from repeating his false claim that he won the 2020 presidential election, he also accused the "Big Tech Companies" of conspiring against him with the Democratic Party.
Trump's post went up after Twitter's internal deliberations around limiting a 2020 story about Hunter Biden's laptop became public. The story, which was censored weeks ahead of the 2020 presidential election, was published by the New York Post.
Donald Trump had already announced that he will run for president again in 2024 to reclaim the Oval Office he falsely asserts was stolen from him.

White House Reacts on Donald Trump Saying Constitution 'Should be Terminated'
The White House responded to Donald Trump's Truth Social posting, with its spokesperson, Andrew Bates, saying that attacking the Constitution and all that the document stands for is "anathema to the soul of our nation."
Bates noted that such acts should be "universally condemned," describing the Constitution as a "sacrosanct document." He then called out Trump and said he "cannot only love America when you win."
Republican Ohio Rep. Dave Joyce initially declined to comment on the former president calling for the termination of the Constitution. However, he ultimately said Trump's statement should be taken "in context" but that it would not prevent him from supporting Trump if the former president wins the nomination.
Joyce noted that Trump says a lot of things but does not mean "that it's ever going to happen." The Republican lawmaker issued his comments Sunday when ABC "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos asked him to respond to Trump's false claims of "massive fraud."
Joyce was unanimously elected chair of the Republican Governance Group in July. At the time, he said he was "hellbent on breaking through Washington's dysfunction."
Donald Trump's Presidential Bid
Donald Trump is the current frontrunner to seal the Republican nomination in 2024 after he announced his decision to run again last month. Aside from Trump, Kanye West has also announced that he plans to run for the presidency in the 2024 election.
The rapper previously said he asked Trump to be his running mate for his 2024 presidential bid during his recent visit to the former president's Mar-a-Lago club in Florida with prominent white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
West noted that Trump was "perturbed" and "caught off guard" when he suggested that the former president sign on as his running mate. He added that Trump yelled at him when he asked him to be his running mate, telling him that his 2024 presidential run was a mistake.
Trump has come under fire for having dinner with Fuentes but said he had no idea West would bring Fuentes with him. He added that he did not know who Fuentes was.
During the 2020 presidential election, West reportedly conceded after garnering 60,000 votes across 12 states. The results were not surprising, given the rapper's late entry into the race followed by a haphazard campaign.
He ran as an independent candidate under the "Birthday Party" banner. West's vague platform promised to "reduce household debt" and restore prayer in schools. However, the actual policy side of his campaign seemed to lack details. He even suggested bringing more "fun" back to the White House.
