Lisa Loring Death: Fans Remember Legacy of OG Wednesday Addams
The actress who portrayed Wednesday Addams on the original television version of "The Addams Family" has passed away. Her daughter, Vanessa Foumberg, confirmed Lisa Loring's death. She was 64.
According to her, Loring died Saturday night at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank due to high blood pressure-related stroke complications, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"She went peacefully with both her daughters [Vanessa and Marianne] holding her hands," she said.
Loring's career took off after she was cast as Wednesday Addams, the gloomy, pigtailed matriarch of the Addams family on ABC's dark comedy, "The Addams Family."

Lisa Loring Career
Lisa Loring, or Lisa Ann DeCinces, was born in the Marshall Islands in 1958. The DeCinces family eventually relocated to Hawaii and then Los Angeles.
She started as a child model and made her TV debut in the hit medical drama "Dr. Kildare," The Guardian noted.
She first became known for her role as Wednesday Addams, then went on to appear in "The Pruitts of Southampton" and "The Girl from U.N.C.L.E." before landing a recurring role on the long-running daytime soap opera "As the World Turns."
She had roles in several slasher films of the 1980s, such as "Blood Frenzy," "Iced," and "Savage Harbor."
Meanwhile, she met her third husband, adult film actor Jerry Butler, while working as a makeup artist on the set of "Traci's Big Trick."
Loring's dissatisfaction with Butler's continued involvement in the adult film industry was the source of several high-profile arguments between the couple, which were covered extensively by the media.
By 1992, they had separated irretrievably and were officially divorced.
Lisa Loring and Wednesday Addams
Loring, cast in the sitcom "The Addams Family" in 1964, served as the model for the pale, pigtail-wearing Wednesday.
She started playing the morbid protagonist when she was only six years old until the series finale two years later.
She played Wednesday Sr. in the 1977 TV movie "The New Addams Family Halloween."
Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the 1991 and 1992 blockbuster films "The Addams Family" and "Addams Family Values," was inspired by Loring's deadpan character performance, which was based on the New Yorker cartoons by Charles Addams.
Following the release of Tim Burton's comedy horror "Wednesday" on Netflix last year, Jenna Ortega said that her interpretation of the pop culture icon was also inspired by Loring, per CNN.
"I paid homage to Lisa Loring, the first Wednesday Addams. I did a little bit of her shuffle that she does," Ortega said during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in December.
Friends and fans took to social media after hearing of her passing to pay tribute.
Her friend Laurie Jacobson posted the news of her passing on Facebook, saying that she "was in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams," Variety reported.
Former "The Munsters" star Butch Patrick posted on Facebook, "Very sorry to hear of my dear friend Lisa Loring's passing. We were very close and worked together often. I know she was very weak. I was in her company just a few weeks ago. Godspeed, my friend."
