Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has received a new death threat hours after former President Donald Trump warned Friday of "potential death & destruction" if he is charged in a criminal probe of alleged illegal hush-money payments he made to porn star Stormy Daniels.

A senior New York law enforcement official told WNBC that Bragg has already received hundreds of threats in recent weeks as the DA's office nears the end of its investigation of Trump.

But this time, Bragg was not just sent a death threat letter. It also contained a suspicious white powder. According to CNBC, the typewritten letter said in all-caps, "ALVIN: I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The envelope, which was addressed to Bragg, had an Orlando, Florida, postmark from Tuesday. It was found in the DA's mail room inside a Manhattan building after receiving it at 11:40 a.m. ET. on Friday.

White Powder Found in Death Threat Letter to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg Is Not Dangerous

When the suspicious white powder was discovered in the letter, New York City police and environmental protection officials quickly isolated and removed the letter before testing the substance in a city lab.

The New York Police Department then told CNBC that the white powder in the envelope was determined to be non-hazardous. According to the Associated Press, the letter was sent to the same building where a Manhattan grand jury will resume work Monday.

The nation is holding its breath on whether Donald Trump will become the first former U.S. president ever to be indicted. In the past few days, security has been heavy in the building, which houses several government offices.

The building was not evacuated, and business went on as usual. However, there have been additional police officers on patrol, metal barricades have been installed along the sidewalks, and bomb-sniffing dogs have been making regular sweeps of the building.

According to Alvin Bragg, the DA's office has also received threatening phone calls and emails.

In a statement released Friday, Fabien Levy, a spokesperson for New York City Mayor Eric Adams, said: "While we cannot comment on the specifics of any ongoing investigation, no public official should ever be subject to threats for doing his or her job."

He added: "I'm confident that every elected official in the City, including Manhattan DA Bragg, will continue to do their work undeterred, and anyone found to be engaging in illegal conduct will be brought to justice."

Donald Trump Lawyer's Communications With Stormy Daniels Handed Over to Manhattan DA

Attorney Joe Tacopina, who now represents Donald Trump, had exchanges with Stormy Daniels in 2018 when she was seeking representation.

That means he has a possible conflict of interest and may not be able to represent his current client over the Daniels hush-money payments.

The former porn star's current attorney, Clark Brewster, told CNN that the communication between his client and the present lawyer of Trump showed that she disclosed confidential information to him so he must be sidelined from this particular case due to a conflict of interest.

Tacopina denied any conflict of interest and said that the former porn star had not shared any confidential information with him or his office. He claimed that he had not met Daniels or even spoken with her.

However, Brewster noted that the communications between Tacopina and his client had already been handed over to prosecutors after Tacopina made public statements that Brewster believes were contrary to what's evident in his and his firms' emails with the former porn star.
