The Donald Trump indictment made him the first former president to ever be criminally charged. However, this begs the question, will he surrender? Will he even be arrested?

The former president's charges are still unclear as of writing as the indictment itself is still under seal. However, the Associated Press reported that they are working to coordinate Trump's surrender, which might happen as early as next week.

It is also not clear if prosecutors seek jail time for the former president should he be convicted. Should Trump not be jailed, he could still make a run for the White House and he could still be president again.

Should Trump surrender, New York Law requires him to be fingerprinted and photographed, fielding basic questions such as name and birthdate, and getting arraigned. This applies to all criminals, be they rich or poor, no matter how powerful or if they are normal people. Defendants are also typically detained for at least several hours.

Donald Trump Is Likely to Surrender on Tuesday, Says His Lawyer

Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina confirmed that the Manhattan DA's Office reached out to the Trump camp. He may not be able to represent Trump during this specific case because of a possible conflict of interest as he may have represented porn star Stormy Daniels previously.

He appeared on NBC's "Today" show Friday morning and said that the former president is likely to turn himself in on Tuesday. "We're working out those logistics right now," said the lawyer. "He's not gonna hole up in Mar-a-Lago."

However, Tacopina still insisted that Trump would not be taking a plea deal, as the Trump attorney insisted that his client did not do any crime, according to the Associated Press.

The Manhattan DA asked Trump to surrender on Friday, but his lawyers stated that the Secret Service needed additional time as they made security preparations.

As for him being extradited, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is currently Trump's biggest rival for the Republican nomination, stated he will not extradite Trump and accused Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg of being politically motivated. Experts believe DeSantis, who had been trading barbs with Trump for weeks, may have been pressured into saying this by Trump supporters.

Stormy Daniels Interview with Piers Morgan Postponed After Donald Trump Indictment

The first president to ever be criminally indicted may be going down because of a former porn star. Now, that porn star's life may be in danger as Stormy Daniels's scheduled interview with British host Piers Morgan has been postponed for security reasons.

According to The Guardian, Piers Morgan confirmed this, saying that his interview with Daniels, which was supposed to happen on Saturday, was suddenly postponed. Morgan added that he hopes that she is okay.

Trump's hush money payments to Daniels were the focus of the Manhattan DA's investigation into the former president, as he instructed his then-lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, to pay off Daniels and former Playboy playmate Karen McDougal to not talk about their affairs with Trump as he ran for the presidency in 2016.
