Vinicius Jr. Going To Manchester United? Brazilian To Be Offered Whopping Amount After Racist Attack in Spain
During a recent La Liga match against Valencia, Brazilian soccer star Vinicius Jr. was targeted in a racist attack by fans who chanted "monkey." Now, Manchester United has expressed the intention to sign the Real Madrid star as his racism row against the Spanish league continues.
According to Team Talk, Manchester United, one of the richest teams in the world in any sport, is prepared to offer the Brazilian a whopping €150 million to make him become a Red Devil. They have also reportedly already reserved the vaunted #7 jersey previously worn by Cristiano Ronaldo.
The English Premier League team is reportedly also interested in English soccer star Harry Kane, as well as Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who is fresh off the team's historic Italian Serie A championship win, the first since the Diego Maradona era.
It was noted that getting Vinicius Jr. from Real Madrid would be hard. However, after a series of racist attacks against him in Spain, the Brazilian might be looking for greener pastures. He has repeatedly criticized Spain's La Liga for failing to reign in racist fans who regularly target him during away matches.
The deal could become sweeter given that they have also thrown in the #7 jersey into the mix as the historic English club has hopes that it would be Vinicius Jr. who would be inheriting that number from Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now playing with Saudi Arabian side, Al Nassr.

Many citizens in the city were disgusted with the actions of the Spanish soccer fans and rallied around their hometown hero. One of them, rapper Deivisson Oliveira, spoke with the Associated Press and stated that he needed to "cry out" after hearing of the racist attack while eating breakfast.

The city's mayor, Nelson Ruas dos Santos, also took to Twitter to aid his city's hometown hero, writing, "My total repudiation of the episode of racism suffered by our ace and the pride of all of us in Sao Goncalo."
However, while Dos Santos was a bit more diplomatic, Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Paes was not, as he targeted La Liga President Javier Tebas who claimed that the league has been acting alone against racism. Paes wrote on Twitter, "Go to hell, son of a..."
Lewis Hamilton Says the Vinicius Jr. Incident Hits Home
Meanwhile, Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton was in Monaco for the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend. During a press conference, he commented about the treatment Vinicius Jr. had been getting in Spain.
"It's devastating to think that in 2023 we're still seeing these things and hearing these things," he said during the press conference. He added that the incident hits home as he also faces racist attacks whenever racing in Italy, France, or Spain.
"There is no room for discrimination, I think, in society today. Sports need to do more, we all need to continue to do more. If we see it, hear it - we need to do something about it," he added.
