Erykah Badu Twitter & Instagram: Star Wears Giant Hat, Tries to Kiss Reporter Mario Diaz on Live TV [Watch]
When reporting on a street, reporters have had to deal with their share of experiences with passersby.
Some handle it by interacting with their subjects. Others just continue to report and surprisingly don't even a break smile. Mario Diaz reacted by pushing a celebrity.
The reporter was talking about Shia LaBeouf when Erykah Badu walked into the frame, notes the Rolling Stone.
The singer first just walked by with a giant smile on her face while she looked straight into the camera, almost as if she were on a skit on a comedy show. She kept walking back and forth. Then, she made some inappropriate gestures, and even opened her coat to show the shirt she was wearing underneath.
But then she decided to take it one step further.
She tried to kiss the reporter, but he quickly reacted and put his arm up to keep her from getting close to him. He was polite about the whole transaction, and after he was done talking about the story, he even joked that a "fan" tried to get too close to him.
His colleague even said that Diaz recovered nicely from the event.
Neither realized that it was Erykah Badu, but viewers certainly did.
When someone asked the singer if that was her on the news segment, she initially denied it.
nope. “@StevieTrees47: @fatbellybella is that you? https://t.co/toWbpmgp0x”

But she later fessed up and offered an apology to Diaz. Although, she was probably not too sorry, as she clearly enjoyed herself.
@fatbellybella #Btw my wife and 2-year-old were 20 yards away when it happened... She saw the roll up, you putting on hat & everything.

Badu had a pretty busy weekend in New York City.
She also performed at Radio City Music Hall with Dave Chappelle and she performed at a block party in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Do the Right Thing."
