California: 2 Fatal Plane Crash Incidents in 4 Days Kill 7
French Valley Airport in western Riverside County in California has experienced tragic events, with two plane crashes occurring within four days.
These incidents have resulted in the loss of seven lives, including the owner of the Hyundai/Kia of Yuma.
The first California plane crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon, when a small plane went down near French Valley Airport in Murrieta, according to Desert Sun.
The local fire department, Cal Fire, reported the incident, stating that the single-engine Cessna 172 crashed shortly after takeoff at around 2 pm.
The crash occurred to the east of the airport's runway, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The department's initial report indicated that four individuals were onboard the aircraft.
Jared Alan Newman, a 39-year-old resident of Temecula, lost his life while piloting the aircraft.
Meanwhile, his three sons, publicly identified as Caleb, Connor, and Elijah Newman, sustained injuries in the incident.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are actively investigating the cause of the crash. As of now, the circumstances leading to the accident remain under examination.
Second Fatal California Plane Crash Kills 6
The second plane crash near French Valley Airport in Murrieta, California has claimed the lives of six Southern California residents, Casino.org noted.
The accident occurred on Saturday when a 1979 Cessna C550 business jet, owned by Prestige Worldwide Flights LLC of Imperial, California, crashed in a field approximately 500 feet north of the airport's runway.
The victims have been identified as Abigail Tellez-Vargas, 33, from Murrieta; Riese Lenders, 25, from Rancho Palos Verdes; Manuel Vargas-Regalado,32, from Temecula; Lindsey Gleiche, 31, from Huntington Beach; Alma Razick, 51 from Temecula, and the owner of the Hyundai/Kia of Yuma, Ibrahem Razick, 46, from Temecula.
The jet had departed from Harry Reid International Airport's Atlantic Aviation terminal at around 3:15 am and crashed at approximately 4:15 am, FFA said.
The pilot was conducting a second approach due to heavy fog, and the landing was guided solely by instruments.
During the approach, the pilot informed air traffic control that a missed approach would be performed, typically when the pilot cannot establish visual contact with the runway environment.
Tragically, the jet burst into flames upon impact, causing a brush fire that scorched nearly one acre of vegetation.
The Riverside County Fire Department confirmed containment of the fire just after 5:30 am.
