A Florida teen is now facing murder charges following a tragic drive-by shooting in Orlando where a 6-year-old girl lost her life while seated in her living room, according to Law & Crime.

The incident also resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man and injuries to the girl's mother.

The arrested individual, 15-year-old Nico Brown, has been charged with first-degree homicide in connection with the incident.

Video footage shared by the Orlando Police on their Facebook page captures Brown, handcuffed and seemingly smiling, being escorted by detectives from the police station to a police cruiser.

The incident occurred shortly before 8:30 PM on August 29th in the western part of the city. Shots were fired from a moving vehicle, striking the girl and her mother inside their home.

The victim, Ajahliyah Hashim, was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Her mother survived with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities clarified that neither of them was the intended target of the shooting.

Tragically, the 19-year-old man, Isaiyah Wright, was transported to a different hospital and later pronounced dead.

Orange County Public Schools Superintendent Maria F. Vazquez shared that the 6-year-old victim attended Eagle's Nest Elementary School, located approximately 2 miles away from the shooting site.

6-Year-Old Girl, Mother Were Not the Florida Teen's Target

The mother and daughter who tragically lost their lives in the shooting were not the intended targets, as confirmed by the police.

Furthermore, as of Friday, it remained unclear how Wright became involved in the incident.

Reporters observed bullet markings at the victims' residence earlier this week, accompanied by numerous evidence markers scattered outside the property, per News 6.

A local resident, who preferred to stay anonymous for her family's safety, recounted the distressing situation: "I heard the rapid gunfire and I called 911. They were really shooting." She identified herself as a neighborhood watch leader and shared a personal connection with the victims.

"She was such a beautiful girl. So quiet. You would want (the mother) for a neighbor. No loudness, no riffraff, her kids were very controlled," she described the mother and daughter.

To provide support, grief counselors were present at Eagle's Nest Elementary School on Friday, attending to students and staff members affected by the tragedy.

Florida Man, Woman Fatally Shot in Orlando

In a separate incident involving a shooting in Orlando, Florida, a man and a woman were discovered shot to death on Monday morning, News 6 reports.

Authorities later confirmed that the suspected shooter, identified as Michael Barclay, aged 52, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The tragic double fatal shooting occurred around 6:45 AM in the 3300 block of Azolla Street near John Young Parkway.

Upon receiving the report, Orlando police promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers identified two individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds. Tragically, the man and the woman were pronounced dead at the location.

After the incident, a search warrant was executed during the evening hours of Monday. As a result of this operation, the suspected shooter, Michael Barclay, was discovered deceased.

Authorities have preliminarily determined that the incident is linked to domestic factors.

In a tweet, police conveyed, "We believe this is domestic-related, and we are not looking for any additional suspects in this case," the police tweeted.

At present, no further details regarding the incident have been made available.
