The former lawyer of the Mar-a-Lago IT employee tasked by Donald Trump to destroy evidence in the classified documents case revealed that his former client struck a deal with prosecutors before flipping on the former president and recanting a previous testimony.

Stanley Woodward, who previously represented the IT employee, stated that he stopped representing him because of a potential conflict of interest after that employee flipped. He currently represents Trump aide Walt Nauta, Trump's co-defendant in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.

This was revealed in a recently unsealed court filing where Woodward revealed his possible conflict of interest in representing the Mar-a-Lago employee, who has now signed a cooperation agreement with prosecutors.

According to the Associated Press, the IT worker is required to "assist a criminal investigation in exchange for not being prosecuted." That employee was previously asked by federal investigations regarding the classified documents and said that he knew nothing. However, that employee has since flipped and provided testimony that added another Mar-a-Lago employee, Carlos De Oliveira, as a co-defendant.

A Mar-a-Lago property manager who had worked for Donald Trump for years, Carlos de Oliveira, was the one who told the IT employee, known in legal documents as "Trump Employee #4," that "the boss" wanted surveillance footage deleted. The IT employee refused, allowing FBI agents to get videos that showed Trump co-defendant Nauta moving boxes of White House documents in and out of a storage room.

The employee switched lawyers before retracting his "prior false testimony." All three co-defendants, Trump, Nauta, and de Oliveira, pleaded "not guilty" to their crimes.

Chris Christie Slams Donald Trump After It Was Revealed That Mar-a-Lago Employee Struck a Deal

Donald Trump is currently running for the presidency, and while his indictments have not diminished his support from his base, it is turning off the more moderate Republicans. During an interview, one of Trump's presidential opponents slammed the ex-POTUS right after it came out that one of his employees struck a deal with the special counsel's prosecutors.

Chris Christie noted that the IT employee who flipped against Trump "will be vilified, attacked and savaged by Donald Trump publicly."

"And then secondly, Donald Trump will lay in his bed at night staring up at the ceiling trying to remember every conversation he ever had with this guy while he's sick to his stomach," the former New Jersey governor and Trump critic added.

Christie then continued slamming his presidential rival, noting, "This is what the Republican Party is facing: drip, drip, drip on the guy who's the frontrunner, which is why he cannot be the nominee," according to USA Today.

Donald Trump Was Warned FBI Could Search Mar-A-Lago if He Did Not Comply With Subpoena

Meanwhile, NBC News has confirmed that before that historic raid at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump was warned by one of his lawyers that he might get his Florida home searched should he continue to defy the subpoena and illegally hide the classified documents.

Reports indicated that lawyer Evan Corcoran informed the former president about this after the subpoena was issued. This was detailed in a series of voice memos from the Trump attorney, which several media outlets gained a copy of.

In one of those recordings, Corcoran was reportedly warned by another Trump attorney that the former president was "just going to go ballistic" if he pushed Trump to comply with the subpoena.
