It may have been over a year since the infamous Oscars slap where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage, but Sean Penn is now talking about it again.

According to People Magazine, the 63-year-old Oscar-winning actor called out Will Smith over his actions during last year's Oscars during a recent interview. In particular, he did not like the reception the "Men in Black" star received after receiving his own Oscar, which took place after he slapped Chris Rock.

"I don't know Will Smith. I met him once. He seemed very nice when I met him. He was so f---ing good in King Richard," said Sean Penn in his expletive-laden interview. "So why the f--- did you just spit on yourself and everybody else with this stupid f---ing thing? Why did I go to f---ing jail for what you just did? And you're still sitting there? Why are you guys standing and applauding his worst moment as a person?"

This was a reference to the time he found himself in jail after punching and spitting on an extra while filming the movie, "Colors." He was arrested, sentenced to spend 60 days inside a county jail, and then served 33 days of that sentence.

Will Smith has since been banned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 10 years, with Smith apologizing publicly and resigning from the organization.

As for Chris Rock, he laid everything he wanted to say during a Netflix comedy special, though he refused to press charges against the man who slapped him, even though police offered to help.

Sean Penn Praises Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelenskyy

In that interview, Penn mostly talked about Ukraine and meeting Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelenskyy for a documentary on the Russian invasion of the country.

There, he revealed why he gave his Oscars statue to the comedian-turned-war president. "I thought, well, f---, you know? I'll give them to Ukraine. They can be melted down to bullets they can shoot at the Russians," he said.

"The Oscars producer thought, 'Oh, he's not light-hearted enough.' Well, guess what you got instead? Will Smith!" said Penn during his interview with Variety. "This f---ing b---s--- wouldn't have happened with Zelenskyy. Will Smith would never have left that chair to be part of stupid violence. It never would have happened."

What Has Happened Since Will Smith Slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars Last Year?

A lot has happened since "the slap heard around the world." As USA Today pointed out, Will Smith did not just apologize once, but twice already while his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who was the subject of Chris Rock's joke that led to the slap, opened up regarding her struggle with alopecia, which is an "autoimmune skin disease that can cause hair loss on the scalp, face or other areas of the body."

As for Chris Rock, he infamously joked in his Netflix special, "People are like, 'Did it hurt?' It still hurts! I got summertime ringing in my ears!" He stood defiant and added, "But I'm not a victim, baby. You will never see me on Oprah, Gayle, crying."
