'Sons of Anarchy' Season 7 Premiere and Spoilers: Creator Kurt Sutter Claims Final Season's Violence Will Be Worse Than 'Game of Thrones' Red Wedding
As the highly anticipated premiere of FX's "Sons of Anarchy" Season 7 is getting closer, creator Kurt Sutter took time to answer some of the questions from fans via social media on Monday, June 30. A Twitter user @Wumpaa asked him about what viewers can expect from the upcoming season, in terms of violence: "On a scale of 1 to Red Wedding, what are we in for here?"
The Red Wedding is a massacre during the War of the Five Kings in HBO's hit fantasy drama "Game of Thrones" Season 3. It was arranged by Lord Walder Frey as revenge against King Robb Stark for breaking the marriage pact between the two royal families. Several main characters, including King Robb, his wife Queen Talisa, and his mother Lady Catelyn, as well as most of his bannermen and men-at-arms, were killed in the same scene -- following the marriage feast and bedding of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey.
With that being explained, Sutter posted his response, proudly claiming that the level of violence in the hit outlaw motorcycle club series' final season will be even worse. "Let's just say you'll soon be calling that other episode BED WETTING," he tweeted.
Meanwhile, the showrunner recently took to his Instagram account to share a photo of himself sitting on a brand new motorcycle. "Got to experience the next generation of Harley. The new electric #LIVEWIRE," he wrote the following caption. When @harleydavidson asked, "As one of the few to ride #ProjectLiveWire, how was it?" Sutter jokingly replied, tweeting, "I can tell you, but then I'll have to kill you. HD ND policy."
In addition, Kurt Sutter previously discussed the production of the forthcoming "SOA" season. "We are in the process of breaking episode 7, which is usually a big episode for us," he said on his video update "WTFSutter." "It's sort of, it ends up being... the same way a premiere sets in motion the bigger elements of the season, episode 7 tends to bring some of those things to some sort of conclusion, then sets up what will ultimately be some of the bigger story elements that will bring us into the end of the season."
"Sons of Anarchy" Season 7 is set to return on FX in September.
