Ohio Police Releases Bodycam Footage of the Gruesome Walmart Shooting Aftermath
Ohio police have released body camera footage detailing their response to a mass shooting at a local Walmart, shedding light on the tragic incident involving 20-year-old Benjamin Charles Jones from Dayton, according to Fox News.
Jones opened fire in the store on Monday, using a Hi-Point .45-caliber Carbine Long Gun and firing several rounds indiscriminately.
The newly revealed bodycam footage captures the tense moments as officers, with guns drawn, navigate through the store, passing Christmas decorations in their search for the shooter.
Ultimately, the officers discovered Jones' lifeless body in the store's visitor's center, succumbing to what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
One officer can be heard confirming on the footage, "Got 'em - shooter's down."
While Ohio police could not ascertain the exact number of shots fired by Jones before he turned the gun on himself, witness Alisha Ring, who was present during the incident, shared her harrowing experience.
In a tearful Facebook Live video from the store's parking lot, Ring recalled the assailant walking by her with an assault rifle and firing about ten shots.
"I was literally just shopping for Thanksgiving stuff, and this guy walked right past me with an assault rifle and started shooting," Ring said.
