During Donald Trump's New York fraud trial, his attorneys have been bogging the case down in requests to throw the case out. However, the New York AG's office has had enough and filed a snarky and sarcasm-filled filing that condemned the Trump defense team's disruptive antics, and the judge agreed.

The filing happened after the Trump defense team presented their witnesses and once again attempted to have the case thrown out. According to Business Insider, the filing complained about the Trump team's "antics," "maneuvers," and "sound bites," and it was practically dripping with sarcasm.

The filing also sarcastically called the Trump defense team "The most ineffective team of experts that Defendants' money can buy," as well as having similarly snarky comments regarding Trump spending over $2 million in paid witnesses, including one that the judge deemed not credible.

The judge overseeing the case, New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, agreed with the filing as he wrote, "All that his testimony proved is that for a million or so dollars, some experts will say whatever you want them to say."

This is in reference to Trump's star expert, New York University professor Eli Bartov, who Trump paid almost a million dollars to say that he did not find the former president committed fraud.

Donald Trump Lashes Out at Judge Arthur Engoron for Dismissing Witnesses' Credibility

In his 3-page ruling, Judge Arthur Engoron pointed out that t the "most glaring" flaw of Trump's argument was that he assumed that Bartov's testimony, as well as his other so-called expert witnesses, would be accepted by the court as "true and accurate."

However, Trump soon reacted to the ruling and took to social media to rant about it, writing that Judge Engoron's comments about Bartov were a "great insult to a man of impeccable character and qualifications."

"Judge Engoron challenges the highly respected Expert Witness for receiving fees, which is standard and accepted practice for Expert Witnesses," he complained on Truth Social.

However, Engoron pointed out in his ruling that Bartov committed "numerous obvious errors" in Trump's financial statements, adding, "By doggedly attempting to justify every misstatement, Professor Bartov lost all credibility."

How Much Was Eli Bartov Paid by Donald Trump To Testify on His Behalf?

Eli Bartov was considered a credible accounting professor at New York University's Stern School of Business. However, critics and other experts have pointed out that his calculations have had discrepancies, and this was noticed by the judge and the prosecution.

Bartov himself revealed that he was paid approximately $877,500 for his expert testimony for Trump in his New York fraud trial. He reportedly charged around $1,350 per hour for about 650 hours of work.

This was questioned by prosecutors who asked him where he received his payments. Bartov answered that some of the payment came from the Trump Organization while some of it came from Trump's Save America Super PAC.

Frederick Chin, another expert that Trump hired to testify, also stated that he billed $850 per hour for 1,000 hours of work, totaling $850,000. Meanwhile, the state's sole expert witness billed the state of New York only $350,000 for his expert testimony.
