American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernández, finds himself in legal trouble once again as Dominican Republic authorities arrested him on charges of domestic violence.

The arrest occurred on Wednesday in the capital, Santo Domingo, and he is currently held at a local jail, per The Guardian.

Details regarding the alleged domestic violence incident remain scarce, and it is unclear whether Hernández has legal representation at this time.

A court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, where a judge will determine whether the rapper will be held in custody or released on bond pending further investigation.

This recent arrest marks another chapter in Hernández's legal woes.

In October of last year, he was apprehended at a seaside hotel in the Dominican Republic, accused of assaulting a local music producer while recording at the producer's studio with his partner, Dominican rapper Jeorjina Guillermo-Díaz, also known as Yailín la Más Viral.

Tekashi 6ix9ine gained fame with the multiplatinum hit song "Fefe" featuring Nicki Minaj in 2018, reaching No. 3 on the pop charts.

Previous Legal Issues

Tekashi 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to one count of using a child in a sexual performance in 2015, involving physical contact with a 13-year-old girl.

He received a four-year probation period, according to the NY Post.

However, he faced more serious charges of racketeering, weapons, and drug offenses, which could have led to a 47-year prison sentence in 2018.

In a plea deal, Hernández pleaded guilty to nine charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, ultimately serving a two-year prison sentence.

Released from jail in April 2020 due to health concerns during the pandemic, Hernández completed his sentence in August of the same year.

Moreover, Tekashi 6ix9ine has faced accusations of using a violent gang as a "personal hit squad" in the United States, but he avoided prison by cooperating with authorities against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

On the other hand, his partner, Guillermo-Diaz, faced legal trouble last month in Palm Beach, Florida, where she was arrested for allegedly attacking Hernández and damaging his Bentley.

She claimed to have damaged the luxury car intentionally to cause him financial hardship, alleging that he had taken money and her passport.

Guillermo-Diaz was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery, property damage, and obstructing justice.

She was granted a $9,000 bond and voiced her dissatisfaction on Instagram, claiming injustice and alluding to a history of physical violence from Hernández.

Past Assault and Legal Entanglements

Meanwhile, three individuals were arrested in connection to an assault on the controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine in March 2023, The Independent noted.

Disturbing footage captured the rapper lying on the ground outside a Florida gym sauna, enduring attacks from multiple assailants.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrests of Rafael Medina Jr, aged 43, Octavious Medina, aged 23, and Anthony Maldonado, aged 25.

The charges against them included assaulting and robbing the rapper.

Furthermore, Tekashi 6ix9ine faced a lawsuit from a Texas promoter, alleging that he accepted payment for a concert in Humble, Texas, only to leave without performing in December 2021.

The promoter, JJD Entertainment, claimed losses exceeding $170,000, including venue costs, insurance, and security expenses, after refunding tickets due to the rapper's no-show.

Tekashi 6ix9ine's legal journey continues, with his latest arrest on domestic violence charge in the Dominican Republic adding another layer to his tumultuous history with the law.
