The American rapper's release was against the prosecution's wishes, with prosecutor Ana Andrea Villa Camacho telling the AP, "We know perfectly well why victims do not file a complaint, why victims recant."
The controversial rapper is no stranger to legal problems in the US and the Dominican Republic. This is the second time he was arrested in the Caribbean country, with the first one happening in October after he was accused of assaulting a local music producer. Tekashi 6ix9ine Wore Bulletproof Vest and Helmet To Court in Dominican Republic
During that same hearing where he was conditionally released, US rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine arrived at the courthouse with a swarm of police escorts while wearing a helmet and a bulletproof vest while being shackled at the wrists.

Yailín soon admitted doing this, telling authorities that she wanted "to cause him financial hardship" because she was upset that he had "allegedly taken money and her passport from her."
