Danny Masterson Transferred to Minimum Security Due to 'Safety Concerns'
Former "That '70s Show" star Danny Masterson has been relocated from Corcoran State Prison, known for housing notorious figures like Charles Manson, to California's Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo, categorized as a medium and minimum-security facility, per the Independent.
The move, less than a month into his prison sentence, is attributed to concerns for the actor's well-being, according to state records.
Masterson, 47, was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison last year after being found guilty of raping two women over two decades ago.
He was denied bail in January pending an appeal; records indicate he will be eligible for parole in 2042.

Men's Colony West Facility Overview
Inmates in facilities like the Men's Colony West Facility, where the "That '70s Show" actor is now housed, have access to academic, career/technical education, and self-improvement programs, including cognitive behavior therapy, substance abuse education, anger management, and family relationship programs, as stated by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Concerns about contraband, such as drugs and cell phones, being smuggled in have been raised due to the perceived ease of tossing items over the low-slung prison fence.
The Men's Colony, initially built in 1954 and located between LA and San Francisco, currently houses around 3,400 inmates, according to DEADLINE.
Last year, some portions were scheduled for closure, but the status of these closures is uncertain.
Danny Masterson is tentatively set for a parole consultation in May 2038, with any potential parole occurring at least four years and one month later.
Masterson's move to a different prison doesn't resolve all his legal challenges.
He is a co-defendant in a civil case filed by several women from his criminal case who allege harassment by the Church of Scientology after reporting their sexual assault claims to the police.
The plaintiffs are seeking to designate Scientology as a "criminal enterprise" due to its "pattern of racketeering activity."
Whether this amended complaint will proceed is yet to be determined by an LA Superior Court judge.
Background on Danny Masterson's Case
Sexual assault allegations against Masterson surfaced in 2017 when three women, former girlfriends of Masterson, came forward with charges.
Despite denying the allegations, the "That '70s Show" star was fired from Netflix's "The Ranch," and his character was written out, MovieWeb noted.
He was also excluded from Netflix's "That '90s Show." In 2020, he was officially charged with three counts of rape, with the jury deadlocking on one charge, resulting in a 30-year prison sentence.
Victims have accused the Church of Scientology of harassment, leading to additional lawsuits in 2019.
Following the verdict, one victim, identified as Christina B, expressed disappointment but remained determined to seek justice in civil court, shining a light on Danny Masterson's actions and the alleged cover-up attempts by Scientology.
