Donald Trump Hush Money Trial: Lauren Boebert Heckled While Michael Cohen Cross-Examination Got Heated
More Republican lawmakers attended the Donald Trump porn star hush money trial in New York, including Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert, who was viciously mocked by the New York crowd. Meanwhile, inside the courtroom, things got heated between star witness Michael Cohen and Donald Trump's attorneys as the cross-examination continued.
Lauren Boebert and several other Republicans, including far-right MAGA Republicans like Matt Gaetz and Andy Biggs, showed their support of the embattled former president and even spoke from a makeshift press conference podium.
"And I want all of the news to start asking the question, 'What is the crime?' Because everyone in this court has not been informed of what the crime is. The defendant does not know the crime that was committed," said Boebert. However, several hecklers mocked the congresswoman.
At least one person could be heard saying "Beetlejuice," according to The Hill. This was in reference to her sex scandal, where she was captured on camera fondling a man who was not her husband while watching Beetlejuice. The incident led to her getting kicked out over unruly behavior, including vaping and taking flash photography.
Those present during Thursday's trial included GOP Reps. Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Mike Waltz (Fla.), Eli Crane (Ariz.), Andy Ogles (Tenn.), Anna Paulina Luna (Fla.), Ralph Norman (S.C.) and House Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good (Va.).
Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas slammed Boebert and the other Republicans who attended the trial, saying, "Cool. You're paid to be here in Washington legislating, it's the middle of a work week, I guess we'll hold down the fort for you while you're tapdancing on Broadway."
Exchange Between Donald Trump's Lawyer and Michael Cohen Got Heated
While Lauren Boebert got heckled, Michael Cohen was grilled by Trump's lead attorney, Todd Blanche in a very tense and heated exchange where Blanche tried to paint Cohen as a "dishonest and unreliable narrator whose claims cannot be believed."

Blanche pushed Cohen regarding the details of the phone call he had with Trump on October 24, 2016. This call was about Cohen paying hush money worth $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels. The Trump lead defense attorney claimed that Cohen's account of talking to Trump that night "was a lie!"
However, Cohen shot back, pointing out that he "believed he was telling the truth, based upon the records and documents" he reviewed.
Blanche also read excerpts from Cohen's podcast, where he insulted Donald Trump and called the former president various insulting nicknames. He admitted he wanted Trump to "rot in prison." Cohen admitted to this.
"Do you agree with me that when you plead guilty to a crime and you are lying, that's not accepting responsibility, is it?" the current Trump attorney asked his predecessor. "I accepted responsibility, and I am suffering the consequences as a result," Cohen answered.
What Happens Next in the Donald Trump Hush Money Trial
The prosecution has stated that its final witness will be Michael Cohen, according to CNN. This means that after his testimony, the prosecutors are expected to rest their case, with the defense team expected to present their case soon after.
It is still not known whether or not Trump will testify in his defense, as the former president has dodged questions regarding this despite previously telling the public that he would do so.
