Donald Trump continued his brief break from the porn star hush money trial in New York by speaking at the National Rifle Association (NRA)'s annual meeting in Dallas, Texas. However, his health immediately came into question as he froze on stage.

According to The Independent, Trump was around 2 hours late when he finally showed up in Dallas on Saturday. The former president, who frequently slammed Biden for his health and age, was praising Texas before he suddenly fell silent at the lectern, something he never does. He reportedly froze for approximately 30 seconds, making several people there wonder what happened.

This happened to another elderly Republican politician just recently, as former Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel also previously froze for several seconds, raising concerns about his advanced age and precarious health.

"The Texas spirit of proud independence was forged by cowboys and cattle hands, ranchers and rangers, oil workers, soldiers and brave, brave, brave, pioneers," he said. "Many came here with nothing but the boots or their feet, the clothes on their back, and the gun in their saddle. Together they helped make America into the single greatest nation in the history of the world."

Immediately after that, he froze for 30 seconds as music was playing in the background. After that lengthy pause, Trump shook his head and continued his speech as if nothing happened. His critics pounced on this Trump freeze.

"BREAKING: Donald Trump just glitched out and froze at his rally tonight. He is clearly unfit for office. Retweet so every American knows Trump is senile," tweeted the @BidensWins X account.

This led to social media commenters piling on the former president, with one commenting, "He pulled a Mitch," in reference to McConnell's own moment of freezing during a speech.

Donald Trump Hush Money Trial To Continue Monday

Trump's break from his hush money trial, which included a rare Friday break so he could attend his son, Baron's graduation, will be getting back on track on Monday, with the prosecution possibly resting their case after star witness Michael Cohen's testimony and cross-examination.

According to the BBC, Cohen's cross-examination is expected to continue on Monday, which means that the prosecution might rest its case and hand the floor to the defense so it could present its case. It is still unknown whether Trump would testify, as the former president has vowed he would previously.

Donald Trump's Defense Team Mum on Whether He Would Testify

With the defense about to present their case, Trump's lawyers have repeatedly been asked whether or not their client will testify. Todd Blanche, the lead defense attorney in this case, noted that his team has not decided yet.

The prosecution carries the burden of proving Trump's guilt in this trial, which means that the former president is not required to testify. This is despite Trump claiming that his gag order is preventing him from testifying, which is what he has been telling his followers.
