Latin artists gained fame across various music styles in 2023. Música Mexicana brought attention to acts like Peso Pluma and Grupo Frontera.

In Puerto Rico, Young Miko and Omar Courtz dominated the urbano music scene. At the same time, rappers Dillom and Taichu made waves in Argentina.

Meanwhile, newcomers Gale and Joaquina shined at the Latin Grammys.

On the other hand, rising stars like Xavi, who topped Spotify's global chart with "La Diabla," are making an impact in 2024.

Artists J Noa, RaiNao, and Junior Zamora continue to build momentum.

We also look forward to new music from L E N I N, GodDessey, and AKRIILA.

Here are the artists to watch in 2024.

Xavi

Xavi, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter, is poised to be Música Mexicana's next star, according to Rolling Stone.

His song "La Diabla" topped Spotify's global chart, a first for a solo Mexican artist.

Known for his romantic "tumbadito romantico" style, he captivates fans with his heartfelt music.

His personal journey of overcoming a serious car accident enriches his artistry, revealing his strength and resilience.

J Noa

At just 18 years old (real name: Nohelys Jiménez), J Noa is a rising star known for her outspokenness and wisdom, said Billboard.

Hailing from San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, she raps about local life and tackles significant social and political issues.

Signed to Sony Music Latin in 2022, she released her debut album, Autodidacta, the following year.

The album's title track earned a nomination for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song at the 2023 Latin Grammys.

J Noa proudly calls herself "La Hija del Rap" in homage to Dominican rap icons MelyMel and Lapiz Conciente, known as "La Mama del Rap" and "El Papa del Rap," respectively.

RaiNao

RaiNao's unique sound stems from her diverse background as a Puerto Rican saxophonist and music theory student.

After supporting Rafa Pabon as a backup singer, she pursued a solo career, showcasing her versatility in blending urbano, jazz, and pop styles effortlessly.

She plans to display her musical talents further this year.

Junior Zamora

Junior Zamora, a singer from Cali, Colombia, initially gained fame with his smooth R&B ballads like "Algo Personal" and "CAFé."

Recently, his EP Drama Vol. 3 highlights his versatility, featuring tracks that range from funky grooves to full-on rap.

This showcases Zamora's ability to excel across different musical styles.

L E N I N

Peru's L E N I N emerged as a visionary pop star since his 2019 debut, blending K-pop flair with the poetic traditions of indigenous Quechua culture.

His EP AMARU I, released last summer, includes standout singles like "Kutimuni" and "Amarullaqta," complemented by visually striking, choreographed videos that showcase his distinctive style and bright future in the music scene.

GodDessey

GodDessey, a bilingual dancehall singer from Roatan, Honduras, fuses her Garifuna roots with influences from West Indian culture to craft energetic dance music.

Her 2022 debut EP, Ascension, includes the TikTok favorite "Holy Fire," showcasing this cultural blend.

She ended the year with "Cocoh," a lively song celebrating island nightlife and teasing her upcoming album.

AKRIILA

During the early pandemic, a rising Chilean artist made a splash with daring singles featuring rebellious lyrics.

Her 2023 album, 001, included collaborations with Chilean rap star Harry Nach on "Xeraton" and a UK garage track titled "Al Contrario," produced by Dominican artist Diego Raposo.

AKRIILA is gearing up for performances at Lollapalooza Chile and Mexico's Festival Ceremonia this spring, marking her international debut.
