Mortal Kombat X News, Gameplay, Review and Release Date: Characters Enjoy Ripping Out Intestines While Gore Heightens the Action
Ever felt like telling your kids to get over here, but then you realize that you just don't have it in you? Why not refocus that anger and frustration toward fighting game Mortal Kombat X? It offers an array of characters, moves and levels that just look and play amazing, especially on next generation consoles.
That said, Mortal Kombat X allows players to dive head first into the fighting series like no entry before it. The game is so brutal that even hardcore gamers might not be able to stomach the blood and guts that get crushed.
In a review from U.K.'s The Telegraph, multimedia reporter Rhiain Temple noted that players can literally rip out an opponent's intestines, freeze them into the shape of a spear and use it as a weapon. Crushing heads with your characters feet and spitting venom on an opponent is fair game as well.
The Telegraph's video review also noted, "NetherRealm's [studio] has added the ability to use the environment in matches. Players can kick off pieces of scenery, double jumping and gaining height for attacks as they rip off pieces of it and use them as weapons."
But the tenth iteration of Mortal Kombat isn't just a mindless button masher either.
"And like past iterations it offers players tweaks and mods on each characters move sets."
These tweaks and playing styles contribute to Mortal Kombat X's replay value. This title isn't vaporware: It's meant to be used and, quite frankly, abused.
Each fighter also has three variations or playing styles that players can select from. Depending on the situation you may want to have a certain fatality available for you.

You can pre-order the game on Mortal Kombat's official website. The game will be released in 2015 on a variety of systems, including next generation platforms Xbox One & PS4, Windows PC and the older Xbox 360 and PS3.
