Getting fired from "Scandal" clearly wasn't enough of a lesson learned for 31-year-old actor Columbus Short.

TMZ reported that Short was partying like a rock star this Fourth of July weekend and got so drunk that he was arrested on charges of public intoxication Saturday.

Short was reportedly partying and drinking at a popular bar in Dallas called the Katy Trail Ice House. Short had been racking up drinks for about four hours before he became belligerent and caused a major scene at the bar.

According to a TMZ witness, Short appeared to be leaving the bar without paying the tab, and when a security guard approached him, Short started screaming and "accused the security guard of racism."

Some off-duty cops witnessed the scuffle between the guard and Short and broke it up.

However, Short appeared to still be fuming and "tried attacking [the cops]," who arrested him on charges of public intoxication.

People reported that upon his arrest, Short was "uncooperative with police."

Short has developed quite a rap for his bad-boy behavior and violent outbursts. This incident marks the fourth time Short has gotten in trouble with the law in four months.

He faces a spousal abuse case stemming from his estranged wife's claims that he threatened to kill her in April. She also "filed for a restraining order" against him. He also pleaded not guilty in May to a felony battery charge after he allegedly punched a man in a restaurant. The victim is now suing Short for $1 million and filed papers in Los Angeles alleging that he was knocked unconscious by an "unwarranted and cowardly 'sucker punch,'" Entertainment Weekly reported.

Due to the drama and real-life scandal surrounding Short's life, "Scandal" writer and producer Shonda Rhimes fired Short from the show this year.

There has been no word on Short's future acting projects. But given the reputation he's quickly developing, it may be a long road ahead before he gets accepted back into Hollywood.
