'Mi Corazón Es Tuyo' Telenovela 2014: Star Polo Morín Ridiculed For Nude Pictures, Shuts Down Twitter
Polo Morín is no stranger to attention, but this time, the reason is much more scandalous.
The "Gossip Girl Acapulco" and "Mi Corazón Es Tuyo" star became a trending topic on Twitter when his nude images circulated on the social media platform. The hashtag #MeEncuroComoPoloMorin, which translates to "I undress like Polo Morin," was used to ridicule the young star, notes TV Notas. The pictures featured him slowly removing his underwear. Some users drew parallels between Morín and Cristian Castro, who also had a nude scandal on Twitter. Others used Carmen Salinas, who has become a very memeable figure, to express disappointment. Salinas also has a role in the same telenovela.
The actor, who portrays Fernando Lascurain on "Mi Corazón Es Tuyo," quickly made his Twitter and Facebook accounts private.
Before he closed his account, the star wrote about bullying, according to TV Notas.
"Trying to make someone feel inferior to you will NEVER make you superior to them. #StopBullying," he said in one tweet.
"People need to understand that bullying is not a game, and that it can ruin lives," his other tweet said.
Although Morín is having a difficult time with the scandal, he is backed up by the producer of the telenovela, Juan Osorio.
"Yes, I know what's going on," Osorio said, according to People En Español. "I was the first person to find out. Polo Morín has great trust with his producer and also the person who is currently responsible for guiding him."
Osorio blames age and trusting the wrong person for this error, but he goes on to praise the young actor for his work ethic.
"He's a very disciplined boy," he said. "He has good principles and either way, you can't cover the sun. He was depressed, but he feels fortunate to have this character. When we talked, Polo said he will continue and will keep doing well."
