Malia Obama Summer Job 2014: White Houses Forces Agency to Remove Photo of President's Daughter
Malia Obama may be living the Hollywood life right now, but she's still the president's daughter.
Malia, 16, has been working as a TV production assistant on the set of Halle Berry's new show, "Extant." On Monday, July 7, Malia Obama went out to Venice, California with her friends to eat at Gjelina, a restaurant that many other celebrities visit, according to TMZ.
The teen's picture was taken when she was exiting the restaurant. The photographer then sent the picture to AKM-GSI. The agency posted the picture on its site for sale, but it was contacted by the First Lady's Office and asked to remove the pictures from the website, as well as to delete it from its files.
Several media outlets have promised not to photograph the Obamas's daughters if they are not with their father, TMZ reports.
AKM-GSI then sent the media an email. The subject read: "URGENT SET KILL NOTICE."
The message said, "Please delete the set of Malia Obama from your archive. The set was sent around earlier today. We cannot distribute this set."
Malia turned 16 on July 4, and the Daily Mail reports that she got a car.
Details about the kind of car that she was given were not released, but it doesn't seem that Malia will be driving anytime soon.
"And, of course, this is always a special day for us because this is Malia's birthday," President Barack Obama said when he celebrated Independence Day. "She's getting her license, but she has to practice a little bit before that happens."
In Washington, D.C., teens must be 17 to drive on their own after they have had their license for six months, notes the Daily Caller. For now, the teen driver can get a learner's permit, and she needs to have an adult in the car at all times. She can only drive Sunday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 11:50 p.m.
