WWE Raw Preview, Spoilers for July 14, 2014: John Cena, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton in Action as Battleground Looms
Fandango has gone from a man happily getting his ego fed -- as both his ex-dance partner, Summer Rae, and his current love interest, Layla, fought viciously to be the sparkle in his eyes -- to getting the boots put on him, with Layla and Summer Rae stomping him down for playing with their emotions. It appears as if Summer Rae and Layla have put their differences aside and become BFFs, but what's next for Fandango, who now finds himself without a dance partner for the first time since making his WWE debut?
The slots for the Battleground Battle Royal to determine the new WWE Intercontinental Championship will likely be filled out by the end of Monday night. United States Champion Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Big E Langston, Bo Dallas, Cesaro, Curtis Axel, Damien Sandow, Dolph Ziggler, Fandango, Kofi Kingston, Rob Van Dam, Ryback and The Great Khali are slated to vie for the prestigious prize that is up for grabs after "Bad News" Barrett went down with a shoulder injury. Who else will make a case to join the chase for the Intercontinental Championship with Battleground just a week away?
Chris Jericho's return to the WWE has attracted the attention of Bray Wyatt and his enigmatic clan, who attacked Y2J upon making his 2014 debut a couple of weeks ago on "Monday Night Raw." Wyatt has launched complete psychological warfare on "The Ayatollah of Rock n Rollah," creeping the former champion out to the point that Wyatt has gotten under his skin -- big words considering Jericho made his bones in the business cutting his teeth during the Extreme Championship Wrestling ultraviolent heydays battling the likes of Sabu and Cactus Jack. Will Jericho have to tap into his extreme darker side to fend off Bray Wyatt with their Battleground match right around the corner?
The Authority return from their vacation, with one week left until Battleground, taking a break from the hustle of running the company. But Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will likely not be happy that WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena and Roman Reigns were working on the same page in their tag team match last week against Kane and Randy Orton -- with the champion scheduled to defend his title against against Reigns, Kane, and "the Apex Predator" in a Fatal Fourway main event match at Battleground.
Triple H has already warned Cena that he has a "Plan B" since the champion refuses to play ball with The Authority and has now scheduled Cena to a Six-Man Tag Team bout, teaming him up with Reigns and his former Shield cohort, Dean Ambrose, against Kane, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins. "The Architect" could be a part of Triple H's "Plan B" since he is holding the MITB suitcase that guarantees him a title shot at the championship, but Ambrose has already fired warning shots towards his ex-stablemate, making Rollins' life a living hell every single time he tries to cash in his MITB suitcase. Will Rollins try again to cash in the MITB suitcase if Kane and Orton present him with an opportunity on "Raw?" Can Cena survive the onslaught The Authority is throwing at him with Battleground just days away? And will Triple H finally reveal his "Plan B" tonight on "Raw" if things go sideways for The Authority?
