Tour De France 2014 Results, Video Highlights, Classification: Alexander Kristoff Takes Stage 15, Vincenzo Nibali Maintains Overall Lead

Alexander Kristoff scored his second stage win in this year's Tour De France 2014 after finishing first in Stage 15 of this year's tour on Sunday, while Vincenzo Nibali will continue wearing the yellow jersey.

The riders are coming off a grueling Alpine climb in the last two stages, and the peloton took advantage of the relatively easy 222-kilomoter race from Tallard to Nimes.

Kristoff, who also finished first in the 12th stage of this year's Le Tour, successfully completed a late chase, overtaking two breakaway riders in the final 50 meters of the race.

The Katusha rider led the pack that overtook New Zealand's Jack Bauer and Switzerland's Martin Elmiger, who looked headed to 1-2 finish. IAM Cycling rider Heinrich Haussler finished second in the stage, while Cannondale's top bet Peter Sagan ended up third.

"I thought it was a little bit too late, I thought I'd have to go for second but I was relieved that we caught them," Kristoff said in an interview via The Star. "I was a bit surprised I could take the win today. Maybe they had heavier legs than me after the Alps."

Bauer, on the other hand, expressed disappointment after blowing the huge opportunity to score his first stage victory, and the Garmin rider broke in tears after the race where he eventually finished in 10th place.

"This was my first chance to be up the road and with the change in the wind and the weather, Martin and I realized we had a chance for the win," Bauer said via BBC. "I left it until 400m to go. I thought I had it but then I realized in the last 50m that I had nothing."

Meanwhile, Nibali maintained his yellow jersey lead after performing will on Sunday. The Astana rider is still four minutes, 37 seconds ahead of Movistar rider Alejandro Valverde and four minutes, 50 seconds ahead of AG2R rider Romain Bardet.
