Current Minecraft gamers with the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 versions of the game will be able to import their games into the next generation consoles.
Worlds on the new Minecraft versions won't be infinite, but they will be getting 36 times bigger according to developers.
The Xbox One version will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace as a download. If you already have purchased the Xbox 360 version, you'll only be charged $4.99 to update to the Xbox One version. This updgrade will be available for at least a year.
The packs and DLC skins that you have downloaded in the past Xbox 360 version will mostly all be able to transfer to the Xbox One edition.
Over on the Playstation side, you'll be able to download the Minecraft: Playstation 3 + Vita edition in August as well as the Playstation 4 edition.
You'll be able to transfer data from the Vita and the PS3 and some data to the PS4.
Similar with the older Xbox 360 edition, if you already have downloaded the Playstation 3 edition of Minecraft, you'll be able to upgrade to the PS4 edition for only $4.99.
You'll be able to import your worlds from the older version game to the newer version but not from the newer to the older version.
Just like the Xbox version, the packs and DLC skins you've downloaded in the past will transfer to the new PS4 edition.
With the newer versions, multiplayer gaming will be even better. Up to eight players will be able to play at once, and that could get higher in the future.
