Assassin's Creed Unity on Xbox One, Windows PC, Playstation 4: Ubisoft Black Flag Sequel Game Adds Parkour Engine & Multiplayer, Release Date Set for October
Assassin's Creed: Unity, the follow-up video game to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, will soon hit the shelves. It is scheduled to be released on Oct. 28 on three platforms: Xbox One, Windows PC and PlayStation 4.
Ubisoft, the game's creator, has just premiered a new trailer for the soon-to-be-released video game. The new trailer includes a narration from Alex Amancio, the Creative Director of Assassin's Creed. Amancio spoke of the various technical advancements that were used in the game, including the new engine called Anvil.
According to IGN.com, the player experience is highly enhanced in Assassin's Creed: Unity, which is set during the French Revolution. The new Anvil engine was "rebuilt from the ground up" specifically for the new-generation consoles which will give players total control of parkour mechanics.
This will be a new fighting system so that one will have a more robust combat experience. In place are crowd manipulation techniques, a cover system and new "stealth mode." Players will be able to customize their inner Assassin's weapons, outfits, equipment, as well as their expertise skills to fit their playing style.
The new video game can be played by a single player or joined with a maximum of three other players and friends to partake in story-driven online cooperative missions. These are specially designed so that Assassins will be able to play with each other, while the unique gears and skills acquired by single players can be accessed by the cooperative. They also have the option to choose a unique skill for the group to make them be more effective fighters and have a better chance at survival.
Ubisoft is trying to have a simultaneous release of its next-gen consoles Assassin's Creed: Unity in October. Producer Lesley Phord-Toy said during her interview with Rock Paper Shotgun that they want to have a simultaneous shipping of the game on all platforms, and since she has not received any contrary information about it, it would seem that the plan for a simultaneous release will push through.
