William Levy, Sebastián Rulli & David Zepeda Being Considered for 'Sólo Para Mujeres'
"Sólo Para Mujeres" is slated to return in 2015, and if all things work out, there will be many leading men sharing the stage.
The play, which first debuted in 1999, will be produced by Sergio Mayer, notes El Siglo de Torreón. He is looking to put together a "dream team."
Some of the actors Mayer is looking to are William Levy, Iván Sánchez, Sebastián Rulli, Lenny de la Rosa and David Zepeda.
"The thing is that they have a lot of work and they are doing other projects," Mayer said.
But Mayer knows that there will be plenty of singers and actors who will want to participate in the show that could help with their careers. But so far there is no confirmed actor for the cast.
The show is based off of 1997 film "Full Monty," and it was successful in its premiere. Mayer has previously performed in the show, which sees the men stripping down. He doesn't think he will be participating this time around, as he is a bit older.
Almost 10 years ago, "Sólo Para Mujeres" suffered a tragedy.
While filming a promotional video for the show, actor Edgar Ponce died. Nine actors were working with motorcycles, and there was a car that seemed to be driving faster, as though it were competing with another car, noted Esmas.
The Chevy Monza car ran over six of the actors. Edgar Ponce was the first one hit before the car hit a wall. Armando Gonzalez, Roberto Assad and Marco Mendez were also injured.
The men were taken to the hospital, and Ponce had serious complications in the kidney, liver and lungs. He also had a fractured skull.
"It was a hellish scene that caused this tragedy and also my other colleagues are also not doing well," Mayer said. "This is very unfortunate."
