Madden 25 seems to be a work-in-progress for online gamers.

The 25th anniversary edition of Madden has garnered some criticism this week as online gamers are reporting freezing issues. EA Sports responded with a statement after remaining silent for two days while message boards were flooding with complaints.

"We are aware some users are experiencing intermittent freezing issues while playing Madden NFL 25. Our team is investigating the cause and is working on a resolution so that we can get everyone back into the game. Thank you for your patience, and for supporting EA Sports!"

"Freezes all the time in any game mode," one commenter said Thursday on an EA Sports message board. "I have yet to be able to actually play any form of this game. HELLO it is now 3 1/2 days after the game has been released and still no solution!!!!!!!!"

According to idigitaltimes.com, there are a few ways to get around the issue but it requires gamers to jump through hoops. For impatient and avid Madden fans, this is not going to fly.

All things considered, the reality is that freezing has been a lingering issue throughout the last decade of online Madden game play. From the PS2 and Xbox to the PS3 and Xbox 360, the game consoles have understandably had issues because that is the simple nature of being online.

The issue now, however, is that the game is not only expensive at $59.99, but the expectations and standards are higher than ever. With the next Playstation and Xbox release just around the corner, EA Sports needs to find a way to ensure that everything will be smooth for the new consoles come November.
