WWE SmackDown Spoilers, Results for Aug. 1: Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton Set for SummerSlam 2014
Jack Swagger kicked off the start of "Friday Night Smackdown" facing off against his former Real American tag team partner, Cesaro. Swagger managed to get Cesaro to tap out to the "Patriot Lock" before Rusev, and Lana came out to challenge Swagger to a match at SummerSlam. Colter accepted the match for his client, who will now be facing the Bulgarian strongman in Los Angeles.
Randy Orton, still salty that Roman Reigns ruined his opportunity to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena in August, challenged Reigns to match for "SummerSlam."
R-Truth won his second match in a row against Bo Dallas after defeating him via disqualification when Dallas would not heed the referees five-count while beating "Bo-lief" into R-Truth.
WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee managed to get Rosa Mendes to tap out to her "Black Widow" finisher in a non-title match. After the bout, Paige attacked AJ while she was celebrating her victory at the top of the ramp, mocking the champion as she skipped away from the damage she had done.
Dean Ambrose showed Kane and Seth Rollins why he is called "The Lunatic Fringe" in their "2-on-1 Handicap" match against The Authority's duo. Ambrose got himself disqualified after using a steel chair on Kane during the bout, continuing his steel chair assault on Kane while Rollins ditched "the Devil's Favorite Demon" to fend for himself against his former Shield stablemate.
WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee is shown backstage getting stretchered out of the building after Paige's sneak-attack on the champ.
Diego, who once again was accompanied by Summer Rae and Layla, defeated the ladies' ex-dance partner, Fandango, after Fandango was distracted by Diego's ringside help.
Alberto Del Rio managed to get Dolph Ziggler to tap out to his "Cross Armbreaker" finisher to earn the win after Ziggler was distracted by Intercontinental Champion The Miz, who was doing commentary during the bout.
In the main event, Chris Jericho defeated Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family despite Luke Harper's interference that got him ejected from ringside. Y2J hit Rowan with a "Codebreaker" to earn the victory, which means that Rowan will be banished from the ring during Bray Wyatt's "SummerSlam" bout against Jericho. After the match, Wyatt attacked Jericho to end the show.
