Immigration Reform News 2014: KKK Says Undocumented Children Should Be Shot at the Border [Watch]
One of the United States' oldest and most notorious hate groups, the Ku Klux Klan, has now taken a stand on the immigration crisis. In a video interview, two Klan members talked about how Border Patrol should shoot the undocumented children crossing the border.
Al-Jazeera America's Robert Ray met up with two Klansmen in Pelham, North Carolina, and conducted the video interview. Following their meeting at a parking lot, the two men, already wearing their white robes and hood, told the reporter and his cameraman to follow them. The interview was conducted on a desolate country road.
Ray asked the men about how some Ku Klux Klan groups had called for the shooting of undocumented children who have been crossing the border illegally in the last couple of months.
"To me, they're breaking the law when they come here," said one of the men, identifying himself as Robert Jones. "If we can't turn them back, I think if we pop a couple of them off and leave the corpses laying on the border, maybe they'll see that we're serious about stopping immigration."
Jones went on to criticize the Obama administration for not upholding the law and allowing the children to cross. When Ray asked how shooting children is such a severe response, Jones answered by simply saying they were lawbreakers.
"These people are criminals to begin with when they come to our country," the hooded Klansman said. "When they come here and cross our borders illegally, they're breaking the law. What makes you think they're going to continue to stop breaking the law once they get here? They're going to continue breaking the law once they get here."

However, the Klan is not simply advocating the shooting of children: They have begun using the immigration crisis as a means of recruiting new members. Fox News Latino reports that Klan groups in South Carolina have been using the slogan "Save our land, join the Klan" to bring in new members.
In the bags the Klan distributed, there was candy as well as a "Klan Hotline" number that, when dialed, leads to a message that says, "Be a man, join the Klan! Illegal immigration is destroying America."
