Kate Upton is Elle UK's cover girl for the magazine's September issue.  

In her nine-page spread for Elle, the blonde bombshell sports the latest autumn designs by Christopher Kane, Dior, and Burberry, The Daily Mail reports.

Although the 22-year-old model covered up for the Elle shoot, she is most popular for her bodacious body and stunning good looks.  But growing up, Upton reveals that she wasn't always praised for her looks.

While growing up in Florida, Upton admits she wasn't always curvy and felt like an outcast among the women of Florida who are known for their voluptuous bodies.

"When I first started modeling, I was a normal catalogue model. Then, I became a woman, and I was really excited about becoming a woman. Because I'm from Florida, it's all about being in bathing suits. You are ugly if you don't have a curvy body. And I didn't have one, and then I got one, and thought, 'Yessss!'" she said during her Elle magazine interview. "And then people say: 'Oh, wow, you're healthy.' And you're like, 'Wait - what?' I've been begging for this body my whole life!"

Although Upton was happy with her curvy body, her agents were not and they put a lot of pressure the young model to lose weight, she explained. However, Upton stood her ground and never succumbed to the pressure.

"Agents have put me under pressure to lose weight in the past. I would go on set and clients loved me. And then I would go into an agency and feel like crap about myself. They would say: 'Just lose five more [pounds]!'"

Upton explains that her resilience through the weight pressures came from developing an understanding that the agent isn't always right.

"To me, agents don't necessarily understand the realities of the industry; they're sitting behind a desk. They've never been on catalogue jobs, they've never travelled like models travel. They're bookers: they say: 'Be on set at such and such a time.' And sometimes they even get the address wrong. Terrible! I never listen. I'm fine."

Despite her confidence, Upton admits to having days where she feels insecure.

"It's not like I look in the mirror and think, 'I'm killing it. My eyes are killing it.' No, a lot of times I'm puffy and bloated. I like myself in general, but there are days when you just don't."
