‘The Wire’ star Anwan Glover Stabbed in DC Nightclub
On Sunday, "The Wire" star, Anwan Glover, was stabbed and beaten inside of a nightclub in Washington, D.C.
People reports, Glover was punched, kicked, stabbed, and hit on the head by an unidentified person at Café Asia early Sunday morning.
The motive for the stabbing still remains unclear but police are actively investigating to find answers to the case.
Prior to getting stabbed, E! News reports Glover heard someone scream, "He has a knife."
Glover "then felt a sharp pain and went down," said Glover's reps to E! News.
The rep continued, "He has no idea who did it, or why."
The Washington Post reports another assault occurred at Café Asia 20 minutes prior to Glover's attack. An unidentified man punched a 37-year-old woman whom he had an altercation with. The man was later escorted out of the club.
Although the woman and Glover's attack eerily occurred just moments apart, police officer Paul Metcalf told the Washington Post, that he doesn't believe the two attacks are related.
Following Glover's attack, he was immediately rushed to George Washington Hospital to receive treatment.
Thankfully, Glover has no life-threatening injuries but suffers from bruises and a severe laceration on his torso, reports E! News.
"He is in stable condition," his reps told E! "Doctors expect a full and fast recovery."
This isn't the first time Glover has been attacked. Glover was shot 13 times as a kid during an attack in Columbia Heights.
His brother was also shot and died in 2007, and his son was shot at during a party in 2011, reports The Washington Post.
Glover's most recent acting role was in the Oscar-winning film "12 Years a Slave."
However, his most noted role was in "The Wire," where he played gang enforcer Slim Charles for three seasons of the hit show, according to Baltimore Sun.
Glover also plays in a musical group called "The Backyard Band" that performed last weekend at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia.
