In addition to all drama that will take place in the Braverman clan next season, Betsy Brandt will also make her return when NBC's "Parenthood" begins its sixth and final season this fall.

According to TVLine, the "Breaking Bad" actress has been cast in a recurring role on the show playing Sandy, Hank's ex-wife.

Brandt made her debut on "Parenthood" back in 2012 during the "Trouble in Candyland" episode of Season 4. In the episode Sandy moved to Minnesota with their teenage daughter, Ruby. Hank decided to follow his daughter and ex, but then returned to the Bay Area in Season 5.

Since then, Hank's been pursuing a romantic relationship with Sarah and the two finally hooked up by the end of Season 5. However, it's possible that Sandy might shake things up in their budding relationship once she returns.

Brandt, who starred on "The Michael J. Fox Show," is set to make her return during the season premiere in September. She will also star on an upcoming ABC series, "Members Only," reports The Celebrity Cafe.

Sandy isn't the only ex who will pose a threat to a couple next season. Just when Julia and Joel began to show signs of reconciliation in their tumultuous marriage, TVLine revealed that Julia's ex-boyfriend Chris will be introduced in the upcoming season. Chris and Julia attended law school together, and apparently they will begin working together at her new job. As a result, Chris' presence alone could trigger backlash in their relationship.

Executive producer Jason Katims also warned that things will take a drastic turn for the worst in Season 6.

During the Television Critics Association Press Tour last month, Katims revealed that the new season will present "a huge new challenge" that will affect all members Braverman clan and last throughout the remaining 12 episodes of the show, reports Bustle.

"One of the things I wanted to do for the season was to find one larger story that influences everybody on the show," he said.

He described the conflict as something that "we didn't see before," adding that although it won't affect the storylines going on during he season, it will be "something that tracks us throughout the year."

Season 6 of "Parenthood" is slated to begin on Sept. 25 on NBC.
