Azealia Banks New Music Video 2014: Watch the 'Heavy Metal and Reflective' Rapper Escape a Kidnapping and Join a Bike Gang [Video]
Azealia Banks released a brand new music video for her first post-Universal single "Heavy Metal and Reflective" on Tuesday.
The "212" rapper announced in a series of tweets last month that she will be under her own independent label Azealia Banks Records from then on:
In the motocross-themed clip directed by Rob Soucy and Nick Ace, the Harlem-native is driven out into the dusty desert of Los Angeles, and left to die alone of thirst. She starts to spit out her signature singing-like cadence over a metallic beat: "Fridgy Froze Kept / It's that fresh b-tch / I be in that prissy stone set / With that wet wrist / Flighty b-tch that prissy bow / With that necklace."
However, Banks self-proclaims herself as "the best b-tch in the rap game," and escapes a kidnapping. She then leads a biker gang in her flaming jumpsuit. "I be looking very heavy metal and reflective / I could get that!" she raps.
Released on July 27, the racy track was produced by Lil Internet, who also worked on "Yung Rapunxel" off Banks' long delayed upcoming debut album "Broke with Expensive Taste," originally set for fall 2012.
"Heavy Metal and Reflective" charted No. 1 on the Twitter Trending 140, less than 24 hours after the song was dropped. Also, it is expected to be featured in Azealia Banks' forthcoming studio record.
