Drake & Lil Wayne Release New Track 'Grindin': Single Kicks Off Rappers' 'Drake vs. Lil Wayne' Show Concert Tour [Video]
Rappers Drake and Lil Wayne have released a brand new song, "Grindin," in time for their Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour, which kicked off on Aug. 8 at Darien Center in New York. The two artists collaborated to come up with this hit in the making, Hollywood Life reports.
As expected, "Grindin" features profanity-peppered rap and the catchy rhythm characteristic of Lil Wayne. The song will be included in his upcoming album, "Tha Carter V," which is set to be released on Aug. 25, if all goes according to plan.
The Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour is expected to run until Sept. 27. The last leg of the tour will be in Houston, Texas. Lil Wayne and Drake are considered two of the hottest rap stars in the industry. They are known for their talent and ability to connect with the audience with the kind of music that they have.
These days 27-year-old Drake is in the headlines for things other than a tour and new singles. Drake is in hot water for allegedly comparing Rihanna, the 26-year-old songstress from Barabados, who also happens to be Drake's ex, to the devil. He was said to have made the comparison during one of her concerts. Fans, of course, are not happy with his, but it doesn't seem to dampen any of the enthusiasm for the concert tour.
Drake is proud to be Lil Wayne's student, having started in 2009 with a mixtape called "So Far Gone." Now, it seems that Drake has been able to find his own fire and is able to hold his own against his former mentor, or any other performer for that matter. Lil Wayne, on the other hand, is 31 years old and has had plenty of experience to back himself up.
With the new single released, ticket sales for the remaining days of the concert tour are expected to increase as fans eagerly await the showdown between two of the most brilliant rappers of this time.
