T.I. Talks Iggy Azalea, Lil' Kim Collaboration Amid Common Feud with Nicki Minaj [Watch]
T.I. reveals that protégé Iggy Azalea and Lil' Kim may collaborate, amid their common feud with Nicki Minaj.
Kim threw shade at Minaj in her own recently released remix of Beyoncé's "Flawless," claiming that she is the one and only "Queen Bee" in the rap game: "Am I tripping or did this ho just say my name? 'Queen of Rap'? F-ck outta here / Queen's back, f-ck outta here / Time to get this whack b-tch up outta here."
Shortly after, the Brooklyn emcee dropped another diss track "Identity Theft," in which she suggests that the Trinidadian rapper stole her style. "I gave birth to your style, now try to speak to ya mammy / Your team can't f-ck with my family," she raps.
In an interview with Billboard, T.I. spoke about the infamous beef between the two aforementioned female rappers, saying that it is difficult to resolve. "Just because you heard another person say that you gonna be on that edge," he explained. "I feel that's more of the case with Kim and Nicki, even though I don't know what started any of this, it's a little more complicated to put to bed because of that fact."
The Atlanta rapper also said that the matter is not specific to female artists -- "This is something that can happen to men too" -- adding that it is possible for the "Anaconda" rapper to be defensive after being compared to the "Jump Off" hitmaker. "It's gonna put a chip on your shoulder in a different way too," he said.
When asked about Minaj's acceptance speech at this year's BET Awards, where she seemingly criticized Azalea for not writing her own music, the "No Mediocre" rapper said: "That's a little more preposterous, like, 'What the f-ck?' because they're not even in each other's lane."
While the "Fancy" hitmaker is still keeping her silence about the rumored feud with Nicki Minaj, the "Whatever You Like" rapper spoke of her possible collaboration with Lil Kim. "I got a call from Kim. She said it's time to find that record to get [an Azalea collaboration] done," he told Hot 97.
T.I. added that Iggy Azalea wants to work with Remy Ma, as well. "Yeah, she's a fan of the sport. I believe she's gonna be eager to show support," he said. "She with the nonsense."
