Madden 15 Release Date, Gameplay, News and Rumors: Game Debuts This Week; Stores to Open Early
It's finally here. In less than 24 hours, gamers across the United States will be playing Madden NFL 15. Some of those gamers may have their copy of the new game a few hours early thanks to retailers opening up their doors for the release.
Some Gamestop stores in the U.S. will re-open (or stay open) at 9 p.m. in order to sell Madden 15 to eager gamers. Best Buy will follow suit by opening its doors at midnight.
If gamers are able to get their hands on the game a little early, they won't be able to play online until 12:01 a.m. PDT or 3:01 a.m. EST. The game will be priced at $59.99 for all four systems.
Reviews for Madden 15 are looking good so far:
Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News said:
There are more prominent new defensive toys as well. As a pass-rusher, you'll get visual cues before the snap, simulating the guessing game that defensive ends play every Sunday and letting you gain an advantage over offensive linemen. Tackling receives an overhaul, too; approach a ball-carrier, and cone will appear by your player, helping to indicate when you can go for a tackle. (Hint: Oftentimes, it's far earlier than you might think).
The new tackling cone is similar to the passing cone debuted in Madden 2006. It was called quarterback field vision back then and it helped determine the probability of how good of a pass you could make if you threw it. The smaller the cone was, the less chance the pass would be completed.
For the tackling cone in Madden 15, it's a similar concept. You'll have a cone, and the smaller the cone the less likely you are to be able to tackle the player. You'll want to get close to the player and perform a solid tackle rather than risking performing a "hit-stick" tackle from far away and missing.
Offensive too will be improved. You'll have more opportunities to change plays at the line of scrimmage, yell out protections schemes and put receivers in motion.
Madden 15 looks to be the most real football simulation to debut for any system, and you can grab your copy Tuesday morning.
