Apple iPad 12.9-Inch Rumors: Pro Tablet & Macbook Hybrid Could Be Next after Bigger iPhone
Rumors and speculations continue to fly regarding the release of the bigger tablet from Apple.
There was a report from Taiwan that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablet will be released in the fall. However, according to Latino Post there were also reports that the release is put on hold.
DigiTimes reported last March that the project for the large-size tablet had been shelved.
The same report said it is because of the difficulties it will face due to lack of support from related ecosystems and platform developers.
Back in July, BGR said that the launch of the bigger tablet will coincide with the release of the 7.9-inch iPad Mini and the 9.7-inch iPad Air. It was also said that TPK will be supplying next-gen touch sensors to all the iWatch and iPad models.
Some are saying that it is more likely that the 12.9-inch iPad will be released in 2015 or even 2016 because Apple's focus right now is on releasing a bigger iPhone.
The specs and price of the bigger tablet are not yet known, except for what can be gathered from rumors and leaks.
According to Trusted Reviews, some are guessing that Apple could be working on a hybrid iPad Pro that could be a tablet or a notebook. Speculations seem to point to this possibility because there is a rumor that Apple is also developing a stylus, making some believe that the bigger tablet (or notebook) is aimed at creative professionals.
It seems unlikely that the tablet will be released in 2014 because Apple's schedule is already busy with the launch of iPhone 6, iWatch and the two iPads.
Sources from Foxconn suggested that the tablet's screen will have a 4K resolution. Analysts are saying that its dimensions will most likely be the same as the Surface Pro 3 of Microsoft. In all likelihood it will use an Apple Ax processor.
