Telemundo's new music competition "Yo Soy El Artista" premieres on Sept. 14. On Wednesday, the judges and host talked more about what to expect from the competition.

Erika de la Vega introduced the conference, which was attended by Lucero, Fonsi, Olga Tañon, Mario Quintero and Boris Izaguirre.

Lucero, who made the switch from Televisa to Telemundo, talked a little more about her role on the show. She will serve as the host, but she will also interact with the contestants.

"I love being able to give advice and to be a part of these young talented artists life," she said.

"It's going to be an opportunity to progress and evolve. I feel very appreciative to have new projects."

Himonidis Sedano, who is better known as Chiquibaby, believes that as the show goes on, the viewers will get to know the contestants' personalities better. The show will also have a large social media component, so it will allow viewers to participate. Lucero echoed this statement by telling fans to stay tuned for the surprises through social media.

Meanwhile, the Mario Quintero believe that one of the most challenging parts will be motivating the contestants.

"The hard work is finding the exact words to motivate them," Quintero, of Los Tucanes de Tijuana, said.

Boris Izaguirre hopes to bring the contestants out of their shells. He wants them to not be afraid but to be conscious of their nerves.

Olga Tañon told the artists that a singing career is difficult.

"I want the contestants to understand that they need to sacrifice in this life," she said. "Enjoy it because many of us didn't have an opportunity like this."

Lucero added that pride and ego have no place in this business.

The host was surprised by a mariachi band singing "Las Mañanitas" for her upcoming birthday on Aug. 29.
