Diablo 3 'Reaper of Souls' Ultimate Evil Edition: PS4, Xbox One Sales Drive Game to Top, Replaces The Last of Us Remastered at No. 1 in UK
In just a few days after its launch on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3, "Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls: Ultimate Evil Edition" has become the No. 1 video game in the U.K., according to Video Gamer.
Forty-seven percent of the sales came on PS4 and 32 percent on the Xbox One. This is followed by 13 percent from Xbox 360 while the rest is filled up by sales on PS3.
It comes a surprise since the new edition of "Diablo," which also includes the expansion for "Reaper of Souls," is the first title in the "Diablo" game franchise to reach the No. 1 spot in the U.K. sales chart for All Formats. The PC version of "Diablo 3" only managed to reach second place in the chart.
With the latest figures, the PS4 version "Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls: Ultimate Evil Edition" now becomes that highest selling console launch of Diablo 3. It overtook the original Xbox One version by 500 units. The Chart-Track data does not include sales via online downloads though, which means the sales figures could be higher.
The "Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition" dethroned "The Last of Us Remastered" by Naughty Dog, which occupied the top spot for three weeks. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare rose from the 15th spot to the third spot after the PS3 and PS4 versions were released. The Xbox 360 Edition of "Minecraft" currently occupies the No. 4 spot, followed by "Call of Duty: Ghosts."
"Tales of Xillia 2" for the PS3, a role-playing game from Bandai Namco, debuted at No. 10 while "FIFA 14" has slipped from No. 7 to No. 12 for the first time since its launch.
This is a major boost for the "Diablo 3" game, which had many initial launch problems with its PC version that did not sit well with gamers. The removal of the Auction House and bug fixes definitely improved the game.
