'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' Cast News 2014: Kardashian Sisters Enters Hair Care Business
Kardashian Beauty continues to grow.
The beauty brand is tackling hair care next, and Kim Kardashian and executive chairman Farouk Shami spoke to Women's Wear Daily about what to expect.
"I like big vision," Shami said. "I am going for a billion. There's no doubt in my mind it will be there in about five years, definitely. We know what we are doing. This is going to be an empire of beauty for Farouk Systems and the Kardashians. It is not going to come overnight. We are looking for long-term business."
At the beginning, Shami was nervous that the Kardashian name would eventually fade. But Shami feels differently now. The sisters only continue to get more popular, Shami said.
Shami believes the beauty hair line will make more than $200 million in its first year.
The line, which will be released next spring, will have an $89.99 flat iron, blow-dryer and three-in-one tool. Dry shampoo, curl cream, volume mousse and other styling products will range between $14 to $17.
In the same interview, Kim Kardashian explained that she doesn't just want to make money off of anything and everything. Now that she has a daughter, she wants to be pickier about what she does.
The products may become available in Vietnam, China, South Korea and other countries. Expanding to these countries, Shami said, would make "about $500 million easily."
"When you have a family of your own, it makes you really only pick the projects that you would love to take the time out from your own family to spend doing, so it has to be something worth it for us that we are passionate about," she said.
The Kardashian sisters decided to start the hair care line because many people have told them that they want good products that aren't too expensive.
