TV fans of "The Vampire Diaries" can look forward to an all-new season filled with new plots, twists, hookups and heartache when the popular series returns to The CW this fall.

While Elena will deal with the tragic loss of her on-again off-again boyfriend Damon by turning to witch magic, Caroline's love life will come center stage as she explores her romantic chemistry with Stefan.

According to TV Guide, Caroline will finally confess to Stefan that she has feelings for him early on in Season 6. However, Elena will overhear her confession.

When asked back in May how Elena would feel about her friend hooking up with her ex-boyfriend, actress Nina Dobrev told TV Guide that Elena would find that situation "awkward," but she would still be "understanding," nonetheless.

"TVD" executive producer Caroline Dries also dropped a couple of spoilers about Caroline and Stefan, telling TVLine that their romance will be a major storyline next season. However, she added that there's no guarantee that Stefan will feel the same way as Caroline.

"She's going to realize it's a little more one-sided than she was hoping, and there's going to be some fallout from that," said Dries. "But just because one character doesn't like another character, that doesn't mean it's not a fascinating love story."

Apparently, Caroline isn't the only character whose love life will get some action in the upcoming season.

During an interview with First Coast News, actor Michael Malarkey recently revealed that his character Enzo will have a makeout scene that will "make everyone go nuts."

"There was a makeout scene. I can't tell you with who, but that's going to make everybody go nuts. He's had a few slightly flirtatious scenes with a certain cast member," teased Malarkey, who was cast as a series regular in Season 6, according to WetPaint.

When asked if Enzo and Caroline will get cozy together, the actor said, "Not necessarily the makeout scene, but yeah, there's a few great little scenes coming up with Caroline. She's a joy to work with, Candice, and I think the dynamic between Enzo and Caroline is great. As far as love goes, I think Enzo has a little ways to come before he can achieve such a goal."

Season 6 of "The Vampire Diaries" will return to The CW on Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. EST.
