We may not know what happens in the first season of "Gotham" yet, but we do know where we can catch it once the season airs.

Netflix has won the rights to stream the Warner Bros. show, starting in 2015. The Fox show will premiere on Sept. 22, notes The Wrap.

"Gotham is the most anticipated new series of the fall season and we are thrilled to offer it to our members around the world," said Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos. "The Batman origin story is sure to have massive global appeal so it is fitting that, along with Warner Television, we have created a new model for distributing a show that international and domestic audiences will love."

Netflix did not say how much it paid for the series, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, it has paid $2 million per episode for NBC's "The Blacklist."

The show will follow Commissioner James Gordon's rise from a rookie detective. But it will also show how certains villains, such as the Penguin, Catwoman and The Joker, got their start.

"'Gotham' is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told," said the show's description on Fox. "From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller, 'Gotham' follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time."

Ben McKenzie will star as Gordon. Jada Pinkett Smith will play Fish Mooney, and Camren Bicondova will be Selina Kyle.

Gordon will have recently be made a detective at the beginning of the show, and he will be working with legend Harvey Bullock, who is portrayed by Donal Logue. The two will work on the murder case of billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne.
