Esteban has fallen for Acacia, who will sooner or later be his stepdaughter. And things aren't going so well for Acacia. Ulises is jealous of her friendship with Manolo.

Alejandra, on the other hand, has a different problem with men. She doesn't trust them, and she even wears a ring to remind her of it. (Catch up on episodes 10-15 here.)

Here's what happens in episodes 16-20.

Episode 16: Ulises confronts Manuel for having feelings for Acacia, but Ulises tells Manuel not to forget who Acacia likes. Cristina confronts Esteban about his dislike for Ulises. Esteban has made it very clear that he is not a fan of Ulises

Episode 17: Juliana pretends to get closer to Alejandra. Juliana said that because Alejandra is her son's girlfriend, she should get to know Alejandra. Norberto tells Danilo to know his place. If he doesn't do as he is told, Norberto will kill him.

Episode 18: Cristina tells Esteban that she expects Ulises and Acacia to announce their engagement soon. Juliana asks Norberto to explain what happened to him at Paso del Diablo. Juliana also believes that Andres may have made his return.

Episode 19: Acacia asks Esteban where the gifts he usually leaves for her are, and he said that he will no longer be giving her any gifts. His new plan is to keep his distance from Acacia, and she immediately notices it. Perla has been looking for Alejandra for a while, and she finally comes across her.

Episode 20: Acacia has one nice moment with Esteban, and he touches her face. Perla threatens Alejandra, and she says that everyone will find out what she really is: a prostitute. Acacia tells Ulises that she hadn't realized before that she does care for Esteban.
