Mortal Kombat X News, Gameplay and Release Date: Goro to Return as Playable Character, But There Is a Catch
Ed Boon sure is doing a good job creating hype for a game that comes out in April 2015. He has been sending vague and confusing tweets trying to create mystery and curiosity among Mortal Kombat fans.
Boon, the creator of Mortal Kombat, first brought the game to homes and arcades way back in 1996. Back then, characters, graphics and features were limited. Now, flash forward to 2015 and we are going to see the best Mortal Kombat game ever. But, it will feature some classic elements as well.
Last week, Boon sent a series of tweets that involved the classic character Goro. Now we are learning that if you pre-order Mortal Kombat X before its release, you will receive Goro as a playable character.
In the original Mortal Kombat (1992), Goro was a boss that gamers had to defeat in the game. Then, he came back for Mortal Kombat Trilogy as a playable character and then again in 2006's Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
It will be interesting to see if Goro can be purchased as an add-on or if this will be a pre-order benefit only. In this case, it may pay to pre-order the game.
Release Date Revealed: The most recent news on the release date has been confirmed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment: Mortal Kombat X will be released on April 14, 2015.
Online Mode and Promises Made: Many games' online modes seem to be for recreational purposes only. In Mortal Kombat X, you are going to want to approach every fight with rankings and reputation in mind. "Every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy," according to NetherRealm Studios, the game's developer.
NetherRealm is promising the most brutal finishing moves ever for any Mortal Kombat game. These are referred to as Fatalaties in the game and often include an overdramatic, extra gory finish to the fight.
What do you think about the release date for the next Mortal Kombat game? Is it too far away or just right? Do you look forward to playing the game? Leave us a comment in the comments section below.
