Robert Downey Jr. recently confirmed that Marvel is not planning to make a fourth installment to the "Iron Man" franchise.

Forbes named Downey Jr. as the highest paid actor this year with an estimated $75 million in earnings, thanks to the global superhero blockbuster.

While sitting down with Variety at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival to promote his upcoming legal drama movie "The Judge," the 49-year-old actor said, "There isn't one in the pipe. No, there's no plan for a fourth 'Iron Man.'"

When asked if he would let someone else play billionaire engineer Tony Stark, who battled against villain The Mandarin in "Iron Man 3," Downey Jr. laughed off.

"I like that the idea is that it would be up to me, like I'm casting director for Marvel," he said.

"Don't give it to anybody else," his "Judge" co-star Robert Duvall said.

However, Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role and certainly put on the glorious red-and-gold armor again, as he is already signed with Marvel and Disney for two forthcoming "Avengers" sequels -- the highly anticipated "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," which recently wrapped shooting in the United Kingdom with director Joss Whedon and the original cast members, and "The Avengers 3," rumored for summer 2018 release.

In addition, co-star Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays Tony Stark's girlfriend and longtime associate Virginia "Pepper" Potts, previously told GeekNation that "Iron Man 3" will be the last one in the series.

"I don't think there's going to be [an 'Iron Man 4']," she said. "I think we're done with 'Iron Man.'"

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
